Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information is collected when you visit RecordsDirectory.com (“the site,” “we,” “us”) and how it is used. The site is a free, informational directory of public-records resources. It has no user accounts, and you cannot buy anything on it.
Information we do not collect
We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not sell or rent personal information. The name fields in our search boxes are not stored by this site. When you click a search button, the name and location you typed are placed in the web address of the third-party search service that opens in a new tab, and that service receives them directly.
Contact form
If you send us a message through our contact form, we receive the name, email address and message you submit. Form submissions are emailed to us through our website host, Cloudflare, and are not stored on the website. We use them only to respond to you and do not add you to a mailing list.
Analytics and cookies
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, for example which pages are viewed, roughly where visitors come from, what device and browser they use, and how they found the site. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect this information, and it is processed by Google under Google’s Privacy Policy. We use this information only in aggregate to improve the site.
You can limit this tracking in several ways:

- Install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Third-party sites and affiliate links
Our search forms and many links send you to third-party people-search services, such as TruthFinder. Some of these are affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission (see our Affiliate Disclosure). When you leave our site, the third party’s own privacy policy and terms apply. Those services may use cookies to record that you arrived from our site. We do not control how they collect or use your information, so please review their policies before using them.
Hosting and server logs
Like most websites, our hosting provider may automatically log basic technical information such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, for security and performance purposes.
Children
This site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed.
