River Edge, NJ Public Records
River Edge is an incorporated borough in Bergen County, New Jersey, with an estimated population of 12,235 (U.S. Census Bureau, July 2024 estimate) and 1.8 square miles of land. That is up about 192 residents since the 2020 Census base.
🏢 River Edge Borough Office
River Edge's own borough government keeps its local records: council or board meeting minutes, local ordinances and resolutions, local permits and licenses, and its own budget and contracts. Requests for those records go to the borough clerk under New Jersey's Open Public Records Act (OPRA). In New Jersey, every municipality has a local registrar who issues certified copies of birth, marriage and death records for events in that municipality, and marriage licenses are applied for there, so the municipal office is the first stop for vital records.
