Ocean Township, NJ Public Records
Ocean Township is a township with its own local government in Monmouth County, New Jersey, with an estimated population of 27,992 (U.S. Census Bureau, July 2024 estimate) and 10.9 square miles of land. That is up about 325 residents since the 2020 Census base.
🏢 Ocean Township Office
Ocean Township's own township government keeps its local records: council or board meeting minutes, local ordinances and resolutions, local permits and licenses, and its own budget and contracts. Requests for those records go to the township clerk under New Jersey's Open Public Records Act (OPRA). In New Jersey, every municipality has a local registrar who issues certified copies of birth, marriage and death records for events in that municipality, and marriage licenses are applied for there, so the municipal office is the first stop for vital records.
